Our story. Our mission. Our hope.
Welcome to Safe Haven for Hope, a place where new beginnings are nurtured. Discover the passion and purpose behind our mission to empower women and veterans on their journey to stability and independence.

Our inspiring journey
Safe Haven for Hope was created out of a deep desire to help women and veterans who are searching for stability, healing, and a second chance. We’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate life without a safe place to land or a strong support system. Too often, women and those who have served our country are expected to “figure it out” while carrying the weight of past challenges, trauma, or setbacks — without the resources or encouragement they need to truly move forward.
This mission is deeply personal. Helping women and veterans find their way back to stability and independence isn’t just work to us — it’s a calling. Seeing lives restored, confidence rebuilt, and futures reclaimed is the reason Safe Haven for Hope exists.

What makes us unique
Safe Haven for Hope is more than a program; it is a place of restoration, dignity, and new beginnings. We intentionally create a calm, home-like atmosphere where women and veterans feel safe enough to pause, reflect, and begin healing without fear or pressure.
Our support is rooted in respect and compassion, honoring each individual’s story and walking beside them with empathy. We offer individualized journeys — not one-size-fits-all solutions — focusing on meaningful progress and celebrating every step forward.
Our goal is to help women and veterans believe in themselves again, rebuilding confidence, strengthening life skills, and preparing for lasting independence. Founded by Markecia Hart, Safe Haven for Hope is guided by a genuine passion for uplifting women and veterans in Anniston, Alabama.

Embracing new beginnings
At Safe Haven for Hope, our deepest hope is that every woman and veteran experiences a true new beginning — not just in their circumstances, but in how they see themselves and their future. We want each individual to finally feel safe — physically, emotionally, and mentally — allowing them to rest, breathe, and begin the healing process.
We hope they leave knowing they are capable, valuable, and deserving of a better future, with renewed confidence and self-belief. Our goal is for women and veterans to gain clarity, direction, and purpose, while building healthy routines, stability, and essential life skills.
We aspire for them to experience emotional healing, release past challenges, and rediscover hope. Above all, we want every resident to leave with a renewed belief in themselves and the confidence to step boldly into their next chapter.
"I am worthy, I am capable, and my life still has purpose."
